On 7 October 2025, AJBC board members, Andrew Tan, Mayumi Laughton-Smith and Richard Sandover, were delighted to attend a function at Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club held by AJBC corporate member, Chalice Mining Limited. Minister for Mines and Petroleum, David Michael MLA, spoke about government resource, environment, and industrial policies. The function followed the successful 62nd Annual Australia–Japan Joint Business Conference in Perth. A range of executives from Japanese corporations attended. While Chalice shared an update on the Gonneville Project, its world-class palladium–nickel–copper development project in Western Australia and reported on progress of its advanced Pre-Feasibility Study, which remains on track for completion in November 2025.
